poems by Australia’s leading children’s
writers.
This
anthology features contributions from Andrew Lansdown,
WA author of With My
Knife, Rosanne Hawke from SA,
author of Soraya the
Storyteller, Paula Vince from SA,
author of the Quenarden
series, Dale
Harcombe from NSW, author of Red
Alert, and Elizabeth Fensham,
author of Helicopter
Man and winner of the 2006
Children’s Book Council Award.
GROW –
Under the Southern Cross, published through
Writerlynks and printed by Openbook Howden in August,
2008, is a high quality, part-colour publication
suitable for upper primary/lower high school (ages 8-13
years). Writers were asked to submit material which
“must also be suitable for an anthology of Christian
fiction – i.e. the story need not be explicitly
Christian in content but should not violate basic
principles of love for God, love of others and respect
for creation.”
The GROW –
Under the Southern Cross anthology has replaced GROW
Magazine format, which had an enthusiastic readership
since 2001. Co-editors Lyn Hurry and Anne Hamilton, are
established children’s writers, and organisers of the
Alpha2Omega Literary and Dramatic Arts Convention held
in Brisbane, May, 2007 - which all of the
above-mentioned authors attended. www.Alpha2Omega.org.au
We envisage that GROW –
Under the Southern Cross will retails at around
$29.95. This includes a professionally recorded CD of
about one hour’s duration of the poems and a selection
of stories.
